The Inverness city council has OK'd a two-year, £6 million ($11 million) project designed to make the Highland capital more pedestrian friendly, the Scotsman reports. "The plan includes measures to improve traffic flows and transport, upgrade pavements, introduce new civic areas, improve street furniture and lighting, and install new artworks," the Scotsman says.
Reader comments on the Scotsman Web site called for things like good transit links and more accommodations for bicycles.
