Boston Bike Update
How is the effort going to create a world-class bicycling environment in Boston? Nicole Freedman, Director of Mayor Menino's Boston Bikes, will presentthe second annual Boston Bikes Report Thursday, December 10, 6:30 to 8 pm (doors open at 6). The event is at the Boston Public Library's Rabb Lecture Hall, Copley Square, 700 Boylston St. Free and open to the public, sponsored by the LivableStreets Alliance.

Despite the fact that we’ve become more aware of the impact of pollution, on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, commuting has gotten much worse -- and more Americans are driving to work than ever before.

Pietzo (www.pietzo.com) believes that it has a solution to get more Massachusetts residents biking to work: electric bikes. Today, Pietzo is launching a line of hybrid electric bikes – including a fold-up version – as well as services to make it easy for people to get on their bikes and keep them going.
Hybrid electric bikes overcome some of the traditional barriers to biking to work. They are easier to ride, and enable people to get to work without sweating. They also help promote health benefits since riders have the option of using the bikes in manual or electric mode. In addition to commuters, Pietzo is targeting its line of bikes to businesses, universities, active adult communities and other organizations to support their sustainability initiatives.
